A two color circular bas-relief portrait plaque cast in jesmonite and fitted with a small plate disc for hanging of Italian poet of the 16th century, Torquato Tasso (1544 - 1595) in yellow and white.
The original portrait plaques from this series are believed to be English, circa 1840.
