Tastemakers on the Hunt: Sherrell Neal
There are designers whose work I admire—and then there are those whose spaces stay with me long after I’ve seen them. Sherrell Neal is one of those designers.
As the founder of Sherrell Design Studio, and a fellow Houstonian, Sherrell brings a perspective to her work that feels both elevated and deeply grounded. Her interiors are beautiful, of course—but more than that, they feel considered and lived in - not just for show. This balance is somehting I love!
"My design mantra is about bringing a fresh perspective, blended with cherished elements that feel like home," says Sherrell. "No detail is ever too small to refine, because I believe thoughtful design contributes to the soul of a home..."
What I’ve come to appreciate most about Sherrell’s work is her restraint. There’s a quiet confidence in the way she layers a space—nothing feels overdone but it's clear she has paid attention to every single detail, and every single detail matters in her designs. She blends classic and modern elements in a way that feels natural and enduring- never forced; her designs don't chase trends but instead evolve gracefully over time.

Sherrell's design style feels collected rather than decorated—and with that philosophy it should be no secret it resonates so strongly with our ethos at Hunt & Bloom.
As someone also based in Houston, it feels especially meaningful to highlight Sherrell. I'm not a native Houstonian, but as a resident of almost six years, I have adopted it as home and am always amazed at the creative energy in this city. It's always a privilege to celebrate designers who are shaping it in such a thoughtful way.
When I began thinking about our Tastemakers on the Hunt series, Sherrell was one of the first people who came to mind. This series is about sharing the individuals who inspire how we live and how we create spaces—those with a distinct point of view and a lasting sense of style.
Sherrell embodies all of that so beautifully.
I’m so happy to have her as part of this series, and to share her work and perspective with you.
